The match started Saturday evening but could not be finished due to a combination of rain and incoming darkness. The match had to be postponed at 3-2 in the advantage of Aoyama and Krunic.
Schoofs and Kerkhove also had to play the semi-finals on Saturday and they defeated top seeds Kiki Bertens and Demi Schuurs.
It was Aoyama’s 18th doubles final and she won her ninth title. Last year’s singles champion in Rosmalen, Krunic, played her second doubles final at the Libéma Open. In 2016 she played in the final with Xenia Knoll.
