Title defender Richard Gasquet has safely survived his first round match. The Frenchmen lost the first set to Slovenian Aljaz Bedene, but came back strong to take the win: 6-7 7-6 6-4.<\/p>

Gasquet was only two points away from defeat in the tie break of the second set, but the former number 7 of the world was able to keep away the danger and to win the set.<\/p>

Gasquet, who won 15 ATP titles (three on grass), was not able to finish the match on 5-2, but later he did on 5-4.<\/p>

The grass court specialist will meet the winner of the match between Kazakh Mikhail Kukushkin and Lorenzo Sonego from Italy in the second round.<\/p>

Chile\u2019s Nicolas Jarry will join Gasquet in the next round. He defeated the 17-year-old qualifier Jannik Sinner with 7-6 6-3 and will play against topseed Stefanos Tsitsipas.<\/p>
