Arantxa Rus has reached the second round at the Lib\u00e9ma Open. Compatriot Bibiane Schoofs was defeated in an entertaining match on centre court with 7-5 6-4.<\/p>
Despite a 3-0 and 5-1 advantage for Rus the first set had an exciting final. Schoofs came back to 5-5, but finally had to make a bow for her left-handed Fed Cup colleague: 7-5.<\/p>
It was again Rus who led in the second set through a break at 4-2. Schoofs again came back to 4-4, but at 5-4 she lost her service and was defeated in a long deuce game.<\/p>
Rus, who is playing in Rosmalen for the 10th time, might meet Kiki Bertens in the second round. However, the first seed has to beat Johanna Larsson first.<\/p>
Margarita Gasparyan also won her opening match. The Russian with the nice single-handed backhand came back from a one set disadvantage in the lengthy match. She had an impressive victory over seventh seed Viktoria Kuzmova from Slovakia: 7-6 6-4.<\/p>
