The second seed was too tough for fellow debutant British Aljaz Bedene (ATP-58) and needed just over an hour to conclude the match with 6-4, 6-3.<\/p><p>Both players held serve in the opening set until Bedene at 5-4 down, had to serve to stay in the set. The Brit tackled the first set point with an ace, but on the second set point sent his backhand over the baseline.<\/p><p>At 3-2 in the second set, three continuous breaks came out of the blue. Tomic took advantage in this break battle after Bedene mishit a forehand. The Australian finished the match with a beautiful drop shot.<\/p><p>Tomic has to deal with title defender Nicolas Mahut (ATP-49) to reach the semi-final. The number 8 seed defeated his French compatriot Paul-Henri Mathieu (ATP-60) in three sets 4-6, 6-1, 6-4.<\/p><p>Querrey<br \/>Sam Querrey (ATP-37) is another quarter-finalist at the Autotron. The American defeated Japan\u2019s Tatsuma Ito (ATP-105) with 6-3, 6-4. Querrey did not have one single break chance against him in the 57 minute match.<\/p><p>The next opponent for the fifth seed will be a compatriot.
