The American surprised first seed Medvedev in two tiebreaks: 7-6(5) 7-6(5).<\/p><p>Despite his success, Opelka also lost a match on the Brabant grass. In the qualifying tournament, he had to face Mark Lajal.<\/p><p>In the main tournament, the 2.11-metre American then managed to beat Jesper de Jong, Nicolas Jarry and Medvedev.<\/p><p>Opelka could face Lajal again in the semi-finals.
