The number four seed defeated Evgeniya Rodina 6-3 6-4, in an efficient performance of just under an hour and a half.<\/p><p>Former US Open winner Bianca Andreescu also made a good start on her tournament debut. The Canadian is seeded sixth and battled past qualifier Zeynep Sonmez of Turkey 6-4 6-4.<\/p><p>With the wins by Alexandrova and Andreescu, all seven seeded players who have been in action so far have made it through the first round. This includes number one Veronika Kudermetova and second-seeded Liudmila Samsonova.<\/p><p>Only fifth-seeded Elise Mertens has not yet been in action.
