Emil Ruusuvuori beat him in three sets: 4-6 6-2 6-1.<\/p><p>Van de Zandschulp was the sixth seed, but only played his first match in the main tournament. The Veenendaler did not have much experience on grass, but made it through the qualifications at Wimbledon last year.<\/p><p>Against Ruusuvuori, Van de Zandschulp had a lot of trouble in his own service games. In the opening set he did manage to pull his break advantage through to set victory.<\/p><p>In the remainder of the match, the Finn grew in the match and Van de Zandschulp could not turn the tide. After losing the second set 6-2, Ruusuvuori quickly went his way in the third set. He will play Mackenzie McDonald or Ilya Ivashka in the second round.<\/p><p>Jesper de Jong, 22 years old, went well against Jenson Brooksby, but had to congratulate the American.
