Libéma Open, scheduled from 5 to 13 June, will not take place this year. The combined ATP/WTA 250 tournament on the grass courts of Autotron ‘s-Hertogenbosch is postponed to June 2022.
The organisation made this difficult decision, in close consultation with ATP and WTA, because the challenges the tournament faced were too difficult to overcome this year.
Tournament director Marcel Hunze: ‘With the current restrictions in The Netherlands, it is impossible to welcome spectators and hospitality guests, key elements to the success of the tournament. Without the presence enthusiastic fans the characteristic atmosphere of Libéma Open is missing. The decision of Roland-Garros to move up a week would have further impacted our event. The focus now is on preparing for a great edition in 2022.’
Kiki Bertens and Daniil Medvedev had already confirmed for the upcoming edition. Alison Riske and Adrian Mannarino are the title holders in ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
Libéma Open will be held from 4 till 12 June 2022.
