Elise Mertens was confirmed her participation in Libéma Open 2019. The Belgian is the second lady player who ensured her ticket for the grass tournament in Rosmalen. Kiki Bertens said ‘yes’ to the organisers earlier this month and will compete at the only Dutch WTA tournament from 10 till 16 June.
The 23-year-old Mertens already reached a semi-final at a Grand Slam tournament. She played in the final four in Australia last year which appeared to be the prelude to a successful season. The world’s number 21 won, just as Bertens did, three titles in 2018. Mertens, who won the doubles tournament with Demi Schuurs at the last edition of Libéma Open, will this year concentrate on her singles career.
In the men’s tournament Robin Haase and Stefanos Tsitsipas will travel to Rosmalen. Richard Gasquet and Aleksandra Krunic are the title defenders at the Autotron.
Tickets for the Libéma Open can be ordered online or by telephone: 0900 – 1353.
