CoCo Vandeweghe, who is currently in top form, heads the competitors list of the WTA tournament. The winner of 2014 and 2016 will be joined by Belgium’s number one Elise Mertens and Holland’s Kiki Bertens.
Anett Kontaveit (photo) won her first WTA title in Rosmalen last year and will try to defend her title at the Libéma Open. Former finalists Belinda Bencic, Kirsten Flipkens and 21-year-old Natalia Vikhlyantseva will attempt to improve their performance. Another young player to be reckoned with is Aryna Sabalenka. The 19-year-old hard hitter from Belarus is moving ahead the past year.
The organisation has a number of wild cards of the main schedule of the WTA tournament. The recipients will be annouced in a later stage.
The draw for the main tournament of both the ATP and the WTA tournament will take place on Saturday 9 Jne at 3 pm at the Autotron in Rosmalen. The qualification tournament will be held on 9 and 10 June. The first match of the main tournament will start on Monday 11 june at 11 am. The finals (singles) will be played on Sunday 17 June.
